Current Cravings

“You expensive, you know that? I’m high maintenance a little bit but not in a negative way, I just like extremely expensive things.” These Drake lyrics do not characterize me at all, however, my current cravings may cause you to disagree. Herein lies my fall wish list. These are items I’ve been gushing over for months/weeks on end. Clearly I’m in love with the new Gucci and that accounts for the bag, belt, and loafers on my wishlist…Christmas is around the corner. I also need a new laptop and the rose gold Macbook is a beauty. Stuart Weitzman Lowland boots are a staple in any fashionista’s closet, but that price point though!  I fell in love with Marc Jacobs Decadence a few weeks ago but ended up purchasing the YSL Black Opium instead. I see myself going back to pick this fragrance up in the near future. Capping off my list with a gorgeous sweater dress from Zara and the MAC Cleansing Oil, I’ve heard great reviews! What are you obsessing over this season?

Denim on Denim

img_0391img_0392img_0340img_0337img_0315img_0251img_0233img_0246img_0283img_0289Casual Sunday’s call for simple denim on denim looks. Denim on denim is definitely a trend that has been updated and has made its way back around within the past 2-3 years or so. I am wearing a BDG Chambray Button Down that I purchased from Urban Outfitters (Denim Chambray) along with a Zara denim skirt (29.90!), and Nordstrom BP booties. My bag is the Louis Vuitton Favorite PM in the classic Monogram Canvas and I am obsessed! I am also wearing a brooch that belongs to my mother but wishing it were this Chanel brooch! Even still, I felt that the brooch definitely added something extra to this look! Share your thoughts about denim on denim and adding flare to your look with a simple brooch below!

You Can’t Buy Style

Welcome to my blog! My name is Crystal Williams and I am currently living outside of Baltimore, Maryland. I attended the University of Maryland, College Park c/o 2014 and I am currently teaching in the Baltimore City Public School System. I’ve been talking about forming this creative outlet for years and I’ve finally mustered up the gumption to pursue this burning interest I have in fashion. I did not realize that I have put off starting this blog out of fear that it will not be the success that I envision. Nevertheless, I am excited about this new journey.

Why “Expert Amateur Stylist?”

I consider myself an “Expert Amateur” because I have very little experience in the fashion industry outside of occasionally styling close family and friends, minimal retail experience, and my personal weekly shopping encounters (both online and in-store). Though I may not have the resume credentials, there is definitely something special about my ability to find and put together pieces that are suitable and flattering for the individual I am dressing whether myself or another…

Expect to find everything fashion, beauty, and lifestyle related here. I  am very excited for you all to take a look into my closet, I have some pieces I’ve been dying to share!
